Amy Zurcher was named executive director of creative ideation and design after a decade as managing director of shopSCAD, which she co-created with SCAD alumna Katie Runnels at the direction of president Paula Wallace in 2003. In her current role, she assists Glenn E. Wallace, senior vice president for university resources, with executing the creative vision for SCAD’s locations in Savannah, Atlanta, Lacoste and Hong Kong. She also serves as buyer for SCAD’s permanent collection and as lead photo and event stylist for all university endeavors, which included giving each SCADpad its unique look and feel along with the help of other project leaders. In her role at shopSCAD, which features the creations of SCAD students, faculty and alumni, Zurcher scouted and mentored young artists, assisted with product design and served as a liaison during collaborations with major retailers, among other responsibilities. She continues to provide art direction and overall supervision for shopSCAD’s retail operations. She holds a B.F.A. in fashion merchandising and design from Ball State University.
