Christian Sottile has earned more than 30 awards for his work, including the 2014 American Institute of Architects’ Young Architects Award, two AIA National Honor Awards and three international Charter Awards from the Congress for the New Urbanism. Sottile earned his master’s degree in architecture from SCAD, graduating as valedictorian, and also holds a master’s degree of architecture and urban design from Syracuse University. In 1998 he was voted among the Top 100 Academics in the Nation by USA Today. Sottile founded the award-winning urban design group Sottile & Sottile with his wife Amy, turning his attention toward expanding the role of architect to include community planning, preservation and growth. As Dean of the SCAD School of Building Arts, Sottile oversees disciplines including architecture, architectural history, historic preservation, interior design, furniture design and urban design.
