Paula Wallace is President and cofounder of SCAD, an accredited, nonprofit, degree-granting university established in 1978. Under Wallace's tenure, the university has grown to include international campuses in Savannah, Atlanta, Lacoste, and Hong Kong, an award-winning eLearning program, and more than 40 academic majors. As well, Wallace has championed pioneering events and programs throughout the university, including the SCAD Collaborative Learning Center, an interdisciplinary learning community that facilitates collaboration with external partners; shopSCAD, a gallery and retail space designed to showcase the work of SCAD students, faculty, and alumni; and Working Class Studio, where SCAD students get to design and direct the manufacture of product lines sold in retail stores around the world. Wallace earned a B.A. degree from Furman University, and M.Ed. and Ed.S. degrees from Georgia State University. She has authored children's and interior design books, and is a celebrated interior designer.
