SCADpad Asia has a striking physical exterior, which was created by SCAD B.F.A. and M.F.A. painting graduate, Will Penny. His paintings, like seen here, often explore 3-D space, employing a gradient painting effect, which he calls gamut relief.

Each SCADpad is visually and spatially extended by a deck. SCADpad Asia’s deck features furniture designed by SCAD students and produced in partnership with SCADpad co-sponsor Brown Jordan. In keeping with the rest of SCADpad Asia, Will Penny has given the deck floor his color gradient treatment.

Step inside SCADpad Asia, and you see geometric wallpaper painted by B.F.A. and M.F.A. painting graduate Liz Winnel. The wallpaper overlays a soundboard designed by senior sound design student Ross Fish and programmed by Kevin Lee. When you touch one of the channels, you trigger an algorithm that produces randomized audio file sounds.

In the bathroom, every fixture and surface, including the hand-dyed Shibori bath towels and bath products were created by SCAD students and alumni.
